Recently I created a video on YouTube - the subject is “Water Enemas and Coffee Enemas”. I felt compelled to do so as my daily clientele - many younger women - consistently tell me they are doing coffee enemas. I ask them why and they don’t know, its just that it was recommended on social media. As some of you know, I have been a Colon Hydrotherapist for over 20 years and in this case I use an FDA approved machine that gently brings purified water into the colon & releases many times (out through the tubing to the sewer) throughout a session. It is also called a “high irrigation”. The client does not have to get up off the table- the session is approximately 45 min. This is highly valuable but can be considered expensive. So many people will seek to do a ‘water enema’ at home for constipation or other issues. There are very small enemas in pharmacies called a “fleet” enema which holds a solution (some chemicals with saline) of only 1/2 to 1 cup. This is a very small amount of fluid and for many people does not help with discomfort or constipation- nor is the liquid very healthy. If this has been your experience, this is not what I speak of here- which is a full size bag (found on Amazon here -https://amzn.to/3xJ6A7Q) which can hold 1-2 quarts of pure water.
A water enema is simply pure water placed in a bag that works via gravity. The bag with pure water is placed on a hook above the person, usually in the bathroom and the tubing from the bag has a speculum attached. There is an on/off button on the tubing and the person receiving the water into the rectum via the speculum can stop the water intake when they are ready to expel into the toilet. Historically, water enemas have been used for centuries, even thousands of years. Notably, Cleopatra’s tomb was discovered to have had an enema bag made from bulrushes (tubing) and other natural leaves. More recently in the early 1900’s, the flu, headaches, constipation, and even relief from pain the the world wars(!) were claimed from utilizing water enemas. The reason for this is the anatomy of the colon and how it affects every aspect of the body. I have a 15 minute video here on this subject:
My video on the Anatomy of the Colon
Of course I cannot avoid speaking of diet in these days. Our food is contaminated on almost every level. The 3 worst offenders are Grains, Seed Oils & Sugar (including chemical & sugar alcohols). Most people are suffering with Leaky Gut syndrome from chemicals and processed foods. If you add the insult of street and/or prescription drugs to the body on top of the typical diet, most people are numb. The idea of drugs are to help people stop ‘feeling’- whether that is a headache or thoughts or injury/pain to the body. In the 70’s we wallpapered prolifically and a common ‘glue’ was flour and water. Pasta, bread and breakfast cereal are classic ‘gluey’ offenders to the colon - and ‘whole grains’ do not change the problem. ‘Daily Fiber’ which is grain based is the same - these do not help constipation or relieve gas but complicate the problem.
Regular water enemas reduce the disease-causing microbial load and assist the body in dealing with toxicity. They help the liver as well, prompting bile release via the hepatic or portal vein situated in the sigmoid area of the colon (lowest left side of abdomen). As I commented earlier-leaky gut syndrome (caused from candida overgrowth, also from taking prescription drugs & a toxic processed food diet), allows undigested food, environmental contaminants and bacteria directly into the bloodstream on a regular basis and directly affects digestion and elimination. Water enemas are much better than taking laxatives which can contain chemicals, petrochemicals and even ingredients that cause hallucinations in children. This is documented and is easily found online. Another positive attribute of water enemas is the ability of the colon to fully empty. Many people suffer with constipation and very little stool happes via their ‘normal’ bowel movement - or the converse - liquid and watery consistency, with more stool impacted further back.
Hopefully by now my readers are starting to understand this dire problem. For most people reading this article if you have had your own bowel issues over the years maybe you went to see your medical doctor. Were you told “this is normal” or were you given a “stool softener” - which does more harm to the intricate balance of bacteria in the gut -than good. Of all the things you may think of to do for your health on a regular basis how many of you remember your grandmother’s recommendation of “taking an enema”? Well, she wasn’t wrong - it is a vital help for almost all bowel issues and even for ‘brain fog’ problems (inability to think clearly) because your blood vessels all attach to the colon wall and when your colon is toxic, your brain suffers! The “gut/brain connection” is real. (Refer to my video on the Anatomy of the Colon above.)
In a few days I will post Part 2 of this article, and will cover Coffee Enemas - How they work, and why you would do them. In the meantime, stay healthy! Talk to you soon….
Yay! Great article Wendy and I can’t wait for part two. You hit the nail on the head and it boggles the mind that this topic is rarely spoken about, yet it’s something we all do…🤔 or is it something we all do, do?!😁
Outstanding, Wejolyn!! Full of good information, and concise. I seldom watch videos (I just prefer to read), but your short video link in the article is a MUST WATCH for anyone that wants to learn more about how this wonderfully complex body of ours functions.
